Enjoy a Glass of Wine at These Austin Wineries

Did you know that the Texas Hill Country is home to over 50 wineries? If you would like to enjoy a glass, then head to one of these Austin wineries near our Zilker apartments that pour everything from malbecs to chardonnays:

The Austin Winery

When The Austin Winery opened in 2014, it became the city’s first glass to grape winery. The hand-harvested grapes come from sustainably farmed vineyards in the Texas High Plains. The winemakers produce onsite using Old World and modern methods. They craft wines that are as approachable as possible and use bottles made in Texas. The winery surrounds the tasting room, giving visitors a firsthand look at the production process. Wines include Lone Cloud, Violet Crown, and Opening Ceremony.

The Infinite Monkey Theorem

Named after an old mathematical theorem, The Infinite Monkey Theorem serves flights worth every penny. The talented winemakers focus on the variables that matter and work in a warehouse on the east side of town. They use grapes from both the Texas High Plains and the western slopes of Colorado and nurture each batch of juice as it becomes wine. Guests can enjoy their creations in the Instagram-worthy dining room featuring colorful murals, x-rays, and chandeliers. Wines include Viognier, Chenin Blanc, and The Blind Watchmaker.

William Chris Vineyards

Inside a century-old farmhouse, the William Chris Vineyards represents the best of Texas with each new vintage. Visitors can taste wine from the barrel during a tour or enjoy a glass in the tasting room. After the grapes are de-stemmed and crushed, the winemakers create balanced wines that emphasize the terroir where the grapes are grown. The selection includes Trebbiano, Roussane La Pradera, and Skelton Key V.

Along with these Austin wineries, our South Lamar apartments also place you close to James Beard Award-recognized restaurants and other destinations. If you want to call our vibrant community home, then please contact us. We would love for you to see firsthand all we have to offer.
