Take a Tour of Local Austin Distilleries

Two people clinking whiskey glasses | Austin distilleries

Austin is home to more than a dozen distilleries, which feature everything from whisky to rum and vodka. These producers create micro-batches of infused liquors that include robust flavors in every sip. If you’re interested in taking a tour and learning more about the production processes of these Austin distilleries, check out these popular spots near our South Lamar apartments:

Garrison Brothers Distillery

As the first bourbon distillery in Austin, Garrison Brothers Distillery holds a special place in the hearts of locals. Its solid reputation is partly thanks to its outstanding bourbons like the Small Batch and Balmorhea. You can visit the facility to learn more about the “corn to cork” production process, as the distillers love to call it. Besides the great liquor, this venue also offers some live old-school Texas music.

Still Austin Whiskey Co.

As one of Austin’s most unique distilleries, Still Austin Whiskey Co. embodies the city’s lovably weird spirit. An authentic grain-to-glass distillery, Still Auston Whiskey Co. does everything locally and in-house, from mashing to bottling. Go on a tour and try their most popular concoctions, including Straight Bourbon, American Gin, and Cask Strength Straight Bourbon. For fun weekly activities, check out the tasting room events calendar.

Dripping Springs Vodka and Gin

As the name suggests, this distillery is located just outside the city in Dripping Springs, TX. Brothers Gary and Kevin Kelleher create vodkas and gin from pure spring water and premium ingredients. To have a taste of their unique spirits, you can plan a visit between Thursday and Sunday for a distillery tour and tasting experience.

Explore this diverse selection of distilleries for a taste of what makes Austin so unique. From distilleries to fondue restaurants, there is so much to enjoy about this vibrant city.
